Their simple, yet extremely effective mission statement 'Slàinte agus Sunnd', which means 'Health and Wellbeing'. This gives the charity a broad and inclusive remit, recognizing that achieving wellbeing means different things to different people.
The charity received a funding award of £7,000 to support their employability and skills training programme. The work will focus around a volunteering programme at their Community Gardens facility. An innovative, inclusive and stigma free approach to improve mental health, particularly for people who have experienced social isolation, loneliness, and lack of physical exercise during the pandemic.
The programme also provides a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for people of all ages and abilities to be active, socially connected and included. It also provides means for volunteers to grow their own food within the gardens.
